Blues/Rok Bassist Needed
Recently moved to the Riverside area (Menifee)from Los Angeles where I had a very successful Blues/Rock group.. I want re-create that magic down in this area and looking for a talented bass player. Seeking someone over 40, btu open to anyone who has the chops. Below is a little bit about the group and the direction we are going.
I’ve been working with my group, Lookin’ For Trouble, for the last 8 years. In that time, the group had done very well – opened for groups such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Charlie Musselwhite, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Eric Sardenas, Tommy Castro & the Painkillers and many others. We’ve sold music all over the world, had songs in the blues charts, played all over Southern California and were even inducted into the Los Angeles Blues Hall of Fame as a “Great Blues Band”. The band was based in Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley area, but I recently moved from there to Menifee in September 2018, and am starting over with a new group of musicians and currently have a wonderful singer and drummer, and need a good bass player to complete the unit. I'm looking for talented, but easy-going folks, who have that “need” to perform.
My philosophy on creating a blues band is that most of the blues bands out there do the same thing and don’t break any new ground. I am a music producer/recording engineer/composer/arranger for a living and what I do for the music of Lookin’ For Trouble is take classic blues tunes from the 20’s to the present and give the songs fresh, new arrangements and really make them our “own”. I also include original music in our sets. The music tends to have a little harder edge, but it is a mix of ballads, medium tempo & some real rockin’ tunes. If I had to give some styles I would say we lean more towards Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart, Tedeschi-Trucks, Tommy Castro, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Albert King, etc.
I don’t really have a preference for gigs, but anything that sounds fun, I’m in – clubs, wineries, corporate events, bars, etc. Making money is always good, but if you need this to make a living, this may not be your band. But if you have a love of music, open to new ideas, have a good work ethic & decent chops, drop me a note. I had a ProTools studio in L.A. and am building a new one in my new home, so we will be doing some recording as well. To get a feel for the group, visit our site and then contact me via email, text or give me a call. I'm a nice person to work with, love playing and creating music, and hope you do as well!
